True C. shepardi range doesn't extend to the Philippines, though with some recent discoveries of other fish that share similar ranges of C. shepardi, that may have changed. Though for that to be the case it would have to have been collected in the far North of the Philippines.Well, I am from the Philippines and I got the fish from a local supplier. I selected it from a batch of locally collected shepardi angels ( or rusty/ flame hybrids).
Yes, that would make for a possible range extension. And the lack of stripes would be an aberration.Yes it was collected in the northern part of the country, in an area close to taiwan already. Philippines has been getting some fishes which we previously thought were not found in the area (helfrich firefish for instance).
That's what I thought. Thanks for sharing yours.Yes, that would make for a possible range extension. And the lack of stripes would be an aberration.
Looks like an aberrant rusty or rusty flame hybrid but I'm not an expert on hybrids. It appears to be a rusty at least in partial blood in overall shape and color, less the stripes or other markings of a rustyWell, I am from the Philippines and I got the fish from a local supplier.
