Abnormal growth??

Look at the growth on this frag. Wish it would encrust though. Probably doesn't help that it falls off all the time.

Any tips on get the base to encrust?

Good growth, some corals just don’t encrust

It should encrust, but you mention it keeps falling off. That coral encrusts and grows upwards, the way you have it precariously, and poorly, attached seems more suited to a type that tables. I'd attach it to the rock better, though probably wouldn't bother re-positioning it as it has already started to branch skyward.

I have it attached now with reef putty so it should not move now, I hope...
