In a bare bottom tank I have a container with sand for the wrasse to sleep in. My question is for anyone else who has done this. Do you ever change out the sand?

I have bare bottom at my frag tank where I keep a leoper wrasse. The first time that I introduced it to the tank, I put a container with sand, but always I found sand out side of container until a point that was empty. So I found that the wrasse slept outside of the container. So no more sand.

I would siphon the detritus and keep what doesn’t suck up or blow around from the wrasse. Add more as needed.

If it is easy to access. You could just take it out and rinse the sand and put it back.

Yeah, it's easy to access and I have plenty of new sand. It doesn't take much to refill so I just dump out the old. I just did it and was wondering if anyone else did. Well, that and I needed to make a thread to enter another bonus into the May 2022 Reef2Reef Site Supporter Giveaway! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
