The RBTA I have is my first one and I was wondering if some of his tentacles coming off is normal? He drops a few off every week it seems. He stays right beside some Polys so they may be fighting but the RBTA hasn’t moved which I figured he would if he wasn’t happy. Just curious.

Not that normal that I know of, my RBTA has not lost any yet.
How long have you had it?

About a year. It has split and the young one hasn’t lost any tentacles that I know of.

That’s not normal
Is it in high flow area ?
Clowns hosting it ?

Mouth is closed tight. Water chemistry is fine. Corals growing fast. Magnificent and other RBTA doing perfect.

I run a bag of carbon in my sump. I really think it might be him fighting the Polly’s that are right beside it. I just would think he would move if it’s bother him bad enough to loose tentacles.

I have a couple that drop the occassional tent. They seem to twist around until it cuts itself off....not high flow area either i think its just how the current spins them...

What's really interesting is to watch how they get out of the predicament. They will actually spin their foot around until they are untwisted. Smart little critters for not having a brain.
