About to throw in the towel...

So they had problems after using vibrant, stopped using it, then used it again which then made everything go back to normal?
They had problems when they stopped using it, I had problems just using it a couple of times

Doing another water change today. Randomly lost an sps frag that was doing great for months. My skittles cyphastrea which I've had for years, slowly died. War an peace favia is starting to recede. Mini scoly is receding. I found an anthias dead in my mp10 this afternoon. First fish I've lost in this setup.

I bought a tux urchin to start eating some turf algae. He's doing a great job at it so far.

I was thinking a possibility being copper from somewhere but all invertebrates are doing great (serpent star, urchin, snails).

Any other thoughts of what could be wrong?

Have you checked your water under a microscope to see what you can find

At this point I'm wondering if I have some type of bacterial infection in the tank. I do remember when my duncan passes, it stn then when I got to the heads, it turned to brown jelly like. I'm wondering if that is wrecking havoc in the tank which is why nothing is showing up on tests or anything.... Can vibrant or chemiclean allow a bacterial infection to spread easier in a tank when used?

If you are concerned re Dino/bacterial… do you run UV? Did not find it in the info. If you are concerned re Dino toxins ( that usually kill your snails first) I like to us carbon for absorption. You said there is no reason to believe in a lost piece of metal? A metal piece rusting? A broken plastic shield of a magnet? Best of luck.

Sorry to hear, few years ago I lost many corals to a tin incident, which was traced to some hardware near my sump. I couldnt open the ICP test but it sounds like some contaminant. Hope you figure it out.

Here's another icp analysis from ati this time. Got the results in about 2 weeks ago...

Came home today with half my holy grail torch starting to recede. No brown jelly, just skeleton showing from the head. This has to be the most difficult tank I have ever dealt with. I'm thinking it has to be something in regard to the algae growth fluctuating the nutrient levels too much. Things started to look great for a week then all of the sudden back to looking like crap. Not sure how much longer this can go on.
