Today I turned my lights completely off which I don't always do as I'm usually asleep. Well all my fish were in the far side of my tank large yellow tang lighting blenny watchman goby and my arc eye hawkfish was sitting looking at all my fish. Is there a chance when my light go off that my hawk fish just goes ham on my other fish. My other fish actually look really stressed to the point they could die. My yellow tang has a bright white line on both side of his body my lighting blenny lost all yellow in him and my watchman almost looks like he has a diformed body now.
Update looking at my fish my blenny is good my yellow tank isn't he has a the white line still

The white line is pretty common in yellow tangs.

It's also very normal for fish to change color at night - sometimes they go pale, other times it's more of a "camouflage" color pattern. Helps them avoid attracting a predator's attention at a time when they're less alert.

Keep an eye on them through the morning, but I suspect they'll get over this disruption to their routine fairly quickly.

The change in color and scared behavior is due to the lights going out. At nighttime on the reef reef species 'hunker down' for the night, because that's when the bigtime predators come out. A consistent lighting schedule, where the lights go off and on at the same time everyday will help them not be so startled when lights go out. But they will still color change to a degree.

The white along the lateral line is pretty normal for yellow tangs.

Ya it's back to normal. It just looked like in the tank that they were getting beat uo
