So,,, I’ve been searching for a universal powerhead controller with ac plugin. Is there such a device? I see repeated dc controllers. I have decent wave power heads already but they are ac plugin. I don’t want to replace perfectly good pumps to achieve wave modes. Anything advice. Thanks!

Not all AC pumps will last very long if you do this. Read the manual or check the instructions.
the manual may not say anything, but yes the hard on and off cycles can be hard on an ac power head. the dc pumps and controllers usually ramp up and down for a softer on off cycle.

I've used above with Koralia Magnum powerheads with the above controller for more than 6 years without any issues.

You connect 2 powerheads, set the time and mode. In mode-1 it goes pump 1 then pump 2, repeat. Mode-2 is both pumps on, both off, repeat.

I’m going to upgrade my power heads too In time.

This has nothing to do with ac or dc. The pump just needs to be able to handle it. Korallas can. Maxi jets can. Most "dc" pumps, most of which are really low voltage ac at the pump and not technically dc, can handle it, but not all.

Good info!
