My tank has some noise from the vibration of my return line. It’s a 60 cube and I use a Syncra Pro pump, which is AC. The pump is really quiet, but there’s a lot of vibration because the hard plumbing is hooked to the side of my stand to support the weight of the manifold. I’ve used the pump on another tank where the plumbing didn’t touch the stand and it was virtually silent. On both I used tubing to connect to the pvc.
My question is do DC pumps offer less vibration noise in the plumbing than AC pumps? Or is vibration just vibration? I guess I don’t really know the mechanical difference between the two styles of pumps. I thought about upgrading to a Cor 15 DC pump just because I have an apex now, but my syncra works great, if it won’t help with vibration noise then there is no reason to upgrade.
Anyone have experience with both types of pumps?

DC pumps in general have far less vibration.
But the Sicce SDC I felt had quite a bit of vibration. I believe that’s because they use the same motor as the AC but in 24V

They make pads you can put under the pumps to reduce vibration, if that’s an issue
