Great tank. I love mangroves out the top too. I'm curious what will happen when the roots get big. I know mine have reached a good 15" down, and really thick. Will they grow more horizontal or just push the mangrove upwards? In haven't cut mine yet, I just keep raising the lights and turning them up. They grow so slow for me, but I probably don't rinse them enough.

I'm definitely waiting to see what the roots are going to do when they run out of sand and rock. I can already see about 1/2 inch thick roots popping out parts of my sand bed. I just fluff sand back over them. I've read about mangrove roots actually breaking through the silicone of tanks [emoji15]

Mine are rooted in about 1-2 inches of sand. I've seen mangroves grow in all sort of ways. It's really up to what you want to achieve aesthetically.

I have had mine a little over a year. I originally got them as propagules. I'd say a month or two before mine sprouted it's first leaves. I cut growth nodes periodically.
