I have a orange Acan and it's turned pink. My lfs said that my temperature is to high at 80 I've always had it 80-82. Plus they recommended moving it out of the light. So I have it in a shady area . And lowered my temperature, for some reason it had jumped up to 84 . So far with it in the shade and 80 it hasn't improved in appearance.. do I need to lower it more?

Acans like to start out with lower light and can be acclimated up. Try to find a spot with low to med flow and low light. Try not to disturb it more a few months and it will color back up. I've bought plain Jane Acans that morphed to have great colors with some patience. Try feeding it. It will explode in growth.

had them for years at 80 your store is just guessing
look at the waters around Australia and their temp swings
light stability and food

I had been feeding it about every other day. have it placed on the bottom. It had been doing good for a month. Then started having the color change. Then about a week later noticed mytemp had jumped up 84. Since it been goigoing down hill I put something over it to block lighting. and water is back to 80. I no longer see it's tentacles.

What salinity seems to work best for acans? Ive had my temp at 78,79 so Im gonna drop it a couple degrees and see what happens
