I have this Acan Colony that has been in quarantine and will be going in my display next week. Question is the narrow end of the colony is not flat. Bends upwards about 3/4 inch from the bottom of tank. I want to place it on my sand bed so should I place a small flat rock under the raised portion or will it over time grow and bend downwards? Any recommendations on placement would be appreciated. Photo was taken a few weeks ago 5 minutes after being dipped and put into quarantine so it was a little upset. When puffed up all gaps between heads are completely filled in.

If you're putting it on the sandbed, Just dig the whole thing into the same bed and it will be supported on all sides.

Thanks for the reply OU812Reefing. I have some Acans on a rock that I added 10 months ago that's on the sand and they did grow but were only 3 heads each to start. This one is a 6 inch colony and my existing rock scape will not work. Would have to mount to high. To much par and flow.

Lost in the Sauce that sounds like a good idea. I think I will do that. Some Members that have posted in the past say they will grow in the sand in a ball shape and some say they wont grow on the sand. Actually it does not matter to me if it spreads or not because it is already a 6 inch colony. Thanks for the recommendation.
