Hey guys! I came across a great deal on the website Cultivated Reef and can get 3 Acan Frags for $30! Can multiple Acans be placed near each other without issue? I have a 29 gallon tank and space might get tight! Ill attach a pic of my tank at nightime for reference (if you zoom in you can see my Favoa, Candy Cane Coral, Zoanthid, and Rhodactis mushroom!). Any recommendations on where to place my Acans based on my setup would be great!

Any idea how much PAR theyre getting? I run the Current USA Orbit Marine and I know its more geared for softies than anything. I was thinking of making my rock on the bottom right side an Acan rock

unfortunately I don't know how much PAR they're getting. I'm running an AI prime hd over my tank. they tend to like lower light so I'm sure they'll be fine

Ok awesome, thank you! Any recommendations for the top left rock in my scape here? Anything sitting on top of there would be getting quite a bit of light, I was thinking a Hammer Coral? Any suggestions for that spot would be awesome if anything crosses your mind!

You wanna be around the 70-100 paar on the bottom would be my advice !!

You have a new tank .. and it looks like a little cyno bacteria on your rocks .. how old is your tank

My tank is about a month old. No fish, taking it slow with stock. I have about 9 snails including Astrea, Trochus, and Cerith. Parameters of tank are spot on, cant keep enough nitrates bc of my refugium. I thought the red stuff was a form of algae and was normal. Ut oh!

Yes it’s normal and it will pass , hows the flow in your tank .increasing it a little in those areas will help .. slow and steady is the way too go !

I have around 1300 GPH going with a 525 GPH Sicce Voyager and a 800 gph Koralia. I just did a small water change and vacced out as much of the Cyno as I could. My guess is it came from the phosphates on my dry rock that I added

Sorry, totally unrelated to the original topic of this post but youve all been very helpful so I hope you can answer this as well! Will having part of my Zoanthid facing down the the rock here cause any issues? The frag it came on fit the space so well in my rock i put it there without thinking much about it. I wasnt sure if the part thats not facing up at the light is going to die or what. Help!

I have a mixed batch and they are within each other with no harm

From your photo it appears that your face-down zoas will do fine for a while. I say this because your rock is very white, so that the ambient light reflected from nearby light colored surfaces should keep these zoas going. It's not the preferred placement but it will probably do, until other objects begin to crowd the zoas and obstruct the reflected light.

Zoas seem to reach for light and often as in 3 of my tanks come from under the group of other zoa members and manage themselves for feeding and growth.
