Yep. low flow with low light. They are really easy to care for and are one of the most colorful corals. Oh and it doesn't hurt to feed them every now and then.
I don't exactly have a low flow area of my tank available for real estate. I have my acan's on the sandbed in a medium flow area. They seem to love it. Not saying it is the proper placement. Just showing that they can survive and thrive other places.
They will tolerate a wide range of conditions. For optimum color and growth pick a low light (even shaded) low flow area and feed them a couple times per week. In high light conditions they will lose some of the colors and favor darker color as the zooax thickens.
I've heard they are aggressive towards other corals, but not to other Acans? Is this true, anyone with experience with this? I'd love to do an Acan garden in my sand bed, I think zoas are overdone and I want to be different...
