Acan died

Hey Guys,

I got my first Acan last week via online. I put it into my 8G on the bottom of the tank. It had medium flow, I could see it jiggle slightly every 3-5 seconds.

The first 3 days it puffed up to 3X its size and looked great.

Day 4 it was all shriveled up

Day 5 it was showing skeleton

Day 6 it died completely...

I have quite a few other corals in the tank (Mainly Zoos) doing well. What could have caused this little guy to die like this? I thought Acan's were generally one of the easiest corals to keep.

I have a peppermint, tiger pistol, and a YWG in the tank could they have done it?

What are your water parameters?

Could have been the travel. Maybe the way you acclimated the coral? Or water parameters.

Peppermint a could be the culprit had some that picked on my acans... Was there flesh left the last day?

Yeah there was some flesh left. The peppermint was going to town on it, but I figured it was because it was dying.

If this peppermint is the culprit he has GOT TO GO!

What are your water parameters?

Water parameters have to be good. I don't test them very often but the last time I had 0 nitrite / ammonia / 10ppm nitrate.

I do 20% water changes twice a week with reef crystals / 0 TDS RODI water to keep my alc/cal/mag up. Everyone I have talked to has said that should be perfect.
