Acan Frag - question about plug removal and growth

I got this acan frag today. It's still annoyed from the tank transfer but curious how acan growth occurs.

It has a thick skeletal structure underneath it, which is glued to the plug.

Do I need to 'thin out' the skeletal structure and glue it to a rock? Or just glue it the rock like it is?

Does more skeletal structure have to grow in order for more heads to develop?

If it grows it will cover up the exposed edges of the skeleton. Pop it off and glue it in place.

They extend new heads around the edges, (to answer your first question).
