Acan getting eaten?

I woke up to my acan looking like the photos below. Unsure what it is, could it be getting eaten? I do have a foxface, but I have had him over a year and had no issues, but thing could've changed. I've also had the acan for over a year.

Looks like flesh is missing. Could something have landed on him such as dosing chems or a nearby coral sting him?

I don't think so. Dosing is done in the sump and there are no nearby stinging coral

OK then it could be one of your occupants. I’ve heard of foxfaces nibbling corals so could be a possibility. I’d try to spy on the coral after lights out to see if u can see who the culprit may be. Try to stay hidden so you don’t spook them.

Okay so best bet is to observe at night?
