Acan Growth pattern? Can someone clarify.

Hello, Could someone tell me if I leave these acans on this large frag plug will they grow in a ball and grow like a gonipora or do they need to be removed from frag to grow on a rock? Do the cloves affect their growth? Thanks in advance.

yes it will ball, mine started as a single polyp. I don't know if the blue cloves would affect the growth.
