my acans have seemd to be growing slower then i think they should be and 1 may be even smaller then when i bought it, just curious on optimal params for them. My current params are
Ph 8.2
Nitrites 0
Nitrate, i dose to around 3 ppm
Calcium 440
Mg 1330
Alk 9 dkh.
Po4- .2 ppm
I run 6 bulb t5ho about 1 foot off surface of 25" deep tank. Lights run about 10 hours a day. I feed 3 times a week, mysis, rotifers, fauna marin. Any pointers would be appreciated, thanks!

Not sure what your problem is but i can tell you the acans in my tank grow very slow as well and I believe are generally known as slow growers.

Gotta be patient. If they don't inflate as they should I'd move them to a shadier spot on the tank floor.

Mine have regenerated from brown slime after a few dips and regular feeding. They have a strong will to survive if given a chance.

These were double polyps 4 months ago...2 different frags..

I feed my acans they grow like crazy.

What do you feed? I feed mine twice a week with a fish food recipe I came up with..

Acans are beasts and pretty hardy. I had a acan that was dying and some how it fell behind a stack of rocks without me knowing and literally months later I found it. It shrunk to almost nothing and after about 4 months it's back to it's original size. I couldn't believe it.

They have incredible regenerative abilities.

Frozen
Spirulina brine shrimp/ Mysis shrimp every other day.

The one I have is a slow grower, though in all fairness I have it in a bit of a higher flow, higher light area. It obviously wants less light as the newest growth areas have reached into a dark zone under an overhang.

Thanks for the responses, ive been target fedding them everyday for a couple of weeks now and moved them around a bit and they seem to be plumping back up and regaining there color

Is every day good? Or is it one of those things where too much of anything can be a bad thing?

I feed maybe once to twice a week tops and my acans grow pretty fast lower lights lower flow for me. Bottom edge of tank
