Hi, I’m just wondering if my acan looks fine. Also how do you tell if something is wrong with acans? This is my first time keeping them. Like one of the polyps are push all the way up
While the rest are sunk in. Here’s a picture of him!

Your acans look fine to me, if they start to shrink or you see sharp bits pointing out of it (skeleton) then something is wrong. Usually a good indicator is their feeding response when your lights are off they will being their feeders out and eat what ever u put thats small enough for then be it mysis or pellets, but keep in mind even when they are stressed or dying some times they continue to eat but will slowly shrink in size and show more and more of their skeleton.

As mentioned above, micromussa have an awesome feeding response & if they are healthy at night you should see feeders extended. I have both lords (acan lords) and amakusensis. They both can be VERY inflated, flat, mouth pushed up or to the side, even mouth gaping open. So long as they return to a normal state, show a good feeding response & no skeleton is exposed all of the above are normal behaviors.
