Bought this piece yesterday and for the life of me I can't remember what the guy called it.

Probably rainbow or something like that. Few acans have "brand names" like acro and zoas do.
 
Ah ok cool, didn't know that. This is literally my first acan frag I've ever purchased in 15 years lol.

As @Shep said it is an acan lord. Rainbows will turn red/orange if lighting is too high for them.

I do have a question though, one of the polyps is just flapping around detached from the skeletal base, will this eventually die?

Picked it up from a pretty run down shop kinda purchased it out of sympathy, and it's awesome looking...and no way I could turn it down for $30

It might but acans are pretty tough corals, I would not worry too much.
