OK so I have tried acans a couple times. Every time I get them they turn red. I want to keep the color in these so bad this time. Help me understand we're to put them. If you say low light please be specific.

It depends on what kind of lighting and how deep your tank is. And you said they are turning red, what was the original color. Flow is definitely a big factor for acans.

Acans like low flow low light and bottom placement on the sand. I have led lighting in a 20 inch deep tank in a very low flow area.

Are you using leds? Many people who use leds have them turn red or orange.

But sometimes no matter what lighting, some of them turn red or orange anyways. 100 par or less is ideal as well. lower par in direct light is good. I have some doing very well in 60 par.
