Anyone have any experience with this brand? I got one in a raffle, but I'm not sure if it's working well w my 40 breeder. It sits about six inches above water. Maybe I'm running it too strong.

Great googily moogily I am thinking you've got it too close to the water. Just looking at their line of products and their supposed PAR measurements it is bloody strong lighting. What lights did you have prior to obtaining this one? Have you acclimated this lighting to the tank?

Which model do you own? The 40 breeder is a fairly shallow tank. Try raising the light up high and lower it slowly to acclimate.
