Hey everyone

A few weeks ago I bought an little acan frag. Or so I thought...

Since I put my ReefLed on my tank last week, this coral puffed up. Almost in such an extreme way that it now looks like a completely different species almost.

My questions

- is this actually an Acan?

-is this kind of puffing up a good or a bad sign? I'm almost daily feeding it some ocean plankton, which it seems to happily accept. Could this kind of puffing up be linked to it not getting enough light? It seems to be stretching towards the light... I'm running my ReefLed in acclimation mode (now at 60%). My former LEDs were a very old Aqua Medic 36W armature though. I find it hard to believe that that armature gave it more, better light?

Any thoughts? The picture where I circled them in red was taken at day 1. The other picture is taken just now. They puffed up a lot. They lost a little bit of their color, but in reality the difference is not as extreme (blame it on my camera phone :D )

Acans can do this and its no big deal. I have had mine do it along with a couple leptstreas as well. I am pretty sure its a feeding response. Whether they are trying to get more photosynthetic style feeding or trying to capture more food I am unsure of though.
