A local reefer wants to trade me some of his blue tort for some of my acans. What would be a fair trade value as far as inches of tort to heads of acans? These are the ones that he is interested in...

fairness is subjective. i've got encough sps (3 frags), so i'm trying to view it from your eyes. if you really want a piece of this tort, i'd say a polp/mouth per inch. this is just based on what i've seen them sold for. the frags i've seen have been inch for sps, and per polyp for acans. in my eyes, the acan is more valuable. if it was a friend, and i didn't want the tort, I would just give him a polyp. cause, that's what friends do :)

if you wanted to be fair, find what a polyp like yours would sell for, and then see what an inch of the tort would sell for. depends on how badly you want to trade :)

If you have very common colors of acan then you will probably have to do more than a polyp per inch because that's not much. Also depends on whether the tort is an ORA tort or oregon tort. ORA tort is pretty common whereas the oregon tort is a lot harder to find (unless you live in Cali or something), I think the ORA tort grows faster as well.

At the end of the day you both should talk and agree on what you both think is a fair trade that way both parties will be happy with what they get.

You are right on. the ORA tort is beautiful but very available. Oregon is a slow grower but all blue and beautiful!!
