I recently acquired these acans about a month ago and over the last few days I have noticed that they have gained color and appear to have morphed. Can anyone give me input on why this happens? Here are a few pics to show whats happened.

Right after I got them in the tank :

Light conditions and/or nutrient levels. A lot of the "rainbow" type lords are particularly easy to morph with lots of light. My working theory is that they are coming from lower light or turbid areas compared to the more common colors....the exposure to halide lighting and clear water causes them to morph. Many of mine have recovered their original colors when put out of the direct light. Low light, low flow and lots of feeding with something like Rod's Food that has pigment enhancers seem to do the trick for most.

OK  love acans, just PM me! i have a couple frags that are only 2 half heads but there ultras, and i thought id give bringing them back a shot. there little pigs now lol

thanks guys! i'll have to update the pic again! The colors have become more intense in the last few days!
