Hi all
I’ve had my acans going on approximately a year now. In 6 months it’s only ever grown 1 head.
They’re all puffed up nicely and show no signs of ill health. Why don’t they grow anymore? I feed them frozen mysis once a week. They’re placed on the sand bed.

Parameters
PH (redsea) -8.2
KH (salifert) - 8.7
Calcium(Hanna)- 400-410
Magnesium (Hanna)- 1275
Nitrites (redsea)- 0
Nitrates(redsea)-5-10ppm
Ammonia(redsea)- 0
Phos (salifert) - 0
Salinity- 1025

Thanks
Emma.

Needs more than Mysis. Moderate flow, lighting high in Blue and I feed mine reef roids 2-3X per week and it catches small food particles for fish.

I’d say if you’ve made attempts to feed and they’re at getting enough flow (I like mine to kinda bobble or at least see movement in tentacles )look into light and temp fluctuations. I was told and have tested that they’re sensitive to temp fluctuations and in my experience this is true but mine really took off when I got the light nailed.Even without feeding. Mine love lots of blue. Be careful adding reefroids if you don’t have a plan for nutrient export if you have a smaller tank.Fluctating nitrates can stunt growth too.

I hardly feed my Lps anything and they grow, mine likes phosphates as do most corals. Zero phosphates can actually be a problem. I would say bump your phosphates and keep it between .05-.1 ish. make sure everything stays stable, stability really encourages coral to grow

My phosphates are constantly at 0 for some reason. How can I bump this up?
Everything else (parameters) are stable.
Thanks

You can dose phophate
A quick search on google and I found this
https://www.triquatics.com/fishofhe...&adpos=1o7&scid=scplpHEX-PO4&sc_intid=HEX-PO4
You will want something like that to bump your phosphate up to .5ish and you will probably see some different colors in some corals and some good growth. If you do dose start slow and see what happens you might get a algae bloom. Algae needs phosphate to grow and if it's added and there is other nutrients it might take off all of a sudden

great, thanks. I’ll give it a go and see what happens
