Acan or Micromussa?

I made a trade yesterday that was supposed to be acan frag for acan frag, but I think I got micromussa because the polyps are really small.
So can you guys tell me...is this micromussa or acan?

It is in fact small!

I haven't been keeping up with the LPS stuff but I had a micro frag and they were about that size.

Looks like a small polyped acan imo. A lot of the aussie morphs of acans get easily confused due to the small polyp sizes sometimes. Who knows, maybe it's a different species all together.

might be a small polyp lords... with the new Aussie stuff, it's a little bit harder to gauge if it's a micro or just a small polyp lords... dunno if that made sense... I'm sure somebody will know and reply about this topic...

on another note, looks like a nice LPS..

Whatever it is...I love the colors in this one

How can you tell if it is Aussie or Indo / micromussa or small acan? I've been looking at pics and I'm lost

You pretty much have to know where you ordered it from. I think if you bought it from me or any of the other sponsors we could tell you apprximately where it came from by our invoices. But micros are typically much bigger than a pencil head eraser.

Thanks for the info!
He did send me a message saying that he hoped it was okay that it was smaller than the frag I gave him, but that it was micromussa. So now I'm even more lost.

It's hard to tell from the pic. It could certainly be a Micromussa sp., or an Acanthastrea with small polyps. You see this a lot on relatively young parts of a colony. Not knowing the colony the frag came from makes it difficult, but if you or the person you got it from has a pic of it that might help.
