Is this white looking piece sticking up something bad? Or just whatever?

I'm afraid I don't know what the stick thing is but wanted to comment that your acans are beautiful!

Why ty. Had it for a month It seems to look happy. Waiting for some growth! It sits in a spot that when I feed the food goes over it to eat 2 times a day. Apparently acan's are piggies from the reading I've done.

This thing is still there looking at me funny lol. Who has a guess as to what it is?

Be careful, you can over feed acans.
They are nice. I love acans. I need more! I wish I could take good pics like you. Oh and not sure what the white thing is. Here's my first 3 under 10k lighting

Those are awesome.
I just got a frag a few weeks ago and its not doing too good....
I just moved it into a less lighted spot. Hopefully it does better.

i was referring to the "trade name" so to speak (like skittles or pink fluff lol) i actually have a similar looking one is all.. and to the op, sorry for "hijacking the thread" but to answer your question, i don't see anything unusual to the best of my knowledge

I picked it up from a local LFS so no there is no name. In my experience with acans and I have had many in the past like lower light.

id agree on that statement, my rule of thumb is: the wider the coral species grows, the lower its ment to be, and if its a species that grows vertically, its probably seeking more light and in turn is ment to be in a stronger lighted area.

Not into the soft. Just that white stick thing in the hard part. It seems to have life out of the end.

ok as long as its not potentially "hurting" the acan, and not moving around (even ever so slowly) id assume its ok, but now this last statement has me a bit confused, By life out of the end are you referring to the fact you believe its an entirely separate creature alltogether? its hard for me to tell with the pic. if this is the case, could it possibly be a smaller type of feather duster worm?

I was thinking new head at first. But yah it may be like a duster or something else. Idk. It's not moving at all.

As in not moving around the coral. Another frag I got in the same shipment had a duster on the frag plug.
