Acan question?

Why does it look like this? Very healthy, growing very well buts its always puffed up like this during lights on.

Thats exactly how it should look durring the daytime lights. Show the best colors that way during the day. Then mine contract when the lights go dim, and then extend feeding tentatacles about an hour after lights out.

+1 mine look like huge pillows during the day. The ones in your picture look pretty happy to me.

Mine look like that after i add liquid food. They get less puffy days later. The ones that are in higher light areas do not get as puffy. At least in my tank.

They are just getting all they can from your water column and the lower light levels.

How come ALL the Acan pics I see look nothing like this?

because acans don't look as colorful when they are expanded. all pics are taken when they are contracted because it shows crazy colors. and most pictures you see are not a super real expectation what you will see in your tank unless you get right up on it.

this pic is taken under 10k lighting of 3 acans that are in my tank


This one is the purple one in the first pic. This is the picture the LFS sent me. it actually is a good picture of what I got and the LFS is well known for being honest I their pictures


This one is the red/brown one and under 20k or under blue, it looks amazing


This one looks nothing like this picture but I just got it today and have not looked at it under any other lighting.
