I perhaps was too aggressive( turkey basting) when I dipped my acan colony. It’s a nice little ultra rainbow but seems shriveled and closed now that I have it. Looked better before I dipped it, that’s for sure.
I guess my question is: how hardy/ tough are these corals? Are they more sensitive to cleaning/ dipping than other lps? Anything I can do to help it along? I don’t have a current pic but the attached pic is how it looked in the store. I’m not expecting the colors to look this way… i know about filters, lighting etc.
My tank is currently in the ugly stage but I’m diligent at keeping it clean and doing 20% WC/wk.

Acclimated 30 min
coral dip used CoralRx
Placed on sand bed. (50par approx)

they can be in bad moods for days at a time, as long as they aren't melting you shouldn't worry too much. Low to medium light and low to medium flow, they are pretty adaptable and hardy IMO

What about flow?

Acans thrive in very light flow, just a whisper. You put them in high flow, they stay irritated and may give up and die

Moderate/low on my sand bed where I have it placed. I just did a WC and it did respond to all the commotion so at least it is alive
