Ok, so I purchased an acan & acclimated it to my tank, it opened up & was fine for about 15 min, then it closed up/receded & hasn't opened up since(36hrs ago)
water param are
Sal 1.025
Alk 9.2
Calc 440
Mag 1320
ph 8.02
Amon 0
Nitrates .01
Phos .02
makes no sense, everything else seems fine I have other inverts, zoas, clams all seem fine. No sps tho
I moved it to a lower /shaded area & low flow it's still closed /receded.
The time between buying it & getting it into my tank was less than 30 min .

Sounds like the acan didn't take well to the acclimation. Your title says "melt" but your description has it "closed", could you specify if there is any flesh left on the skeleton or has all the tissue melted off?

Did you do any type of dip or quarantine before adding it to your system?
During acclimation did it seem to adjust well to the new water?

Sorry, not melting, just receded There is still flesh left , the feeding tenticles are basically all that are exposed
What inverts and fish do you have?
I have mostly Wrasses Leopards, Flashers , a few Gobies, I watched it the whole time, no one even came close to it

No dip was used this time It seemed like it adjusted fine, like I said it was open for a few min & then just started to shut down/recede & hasn't opened since
