Hi, signs of too much light can be poor polyp extension and bleaching, or overall unhappiness of the coral, possibly receding tissue, but these can also occur independent of how much light you give it... Flow can also be a factor as much as parameters and light... If your polyps are extended well and inflates and nice looking your scans are happy where they are if you think they need more light move them slowly to an area with more light..

To much light they'll look washed out, faded coloring, polyps will pinch up.
Not enough light polyps will stretch or reach towards lighting. It's pretty hard to give them to little lighting unless you put em inna cave.

Ok thanks for info. I picked up some acan from someone yesturday and he had dragged them out. They were shriveled up when I got them, when I got home from work today it starting to show some skeleton. He had them close to the top of his tank with t5 lighting. I moved one on top of my tank and have one in low light to see which one starts looking better. I'm running a maxspect razor in my cube

Since the corals aren't adjusted to your lights i would put them in a lower light and lower flow portion of the tank like a semi shaded area to adjust.. You're more likely to kill coral with too much light rather than not enough light...

Definitely start them out on your SB. They'll adjust to lower lighting but die quickly from to much.

Well they were getting lots of lighting in his tank,he had them on the very top of his tank on frag rack. Here is a pic of it. Honestly I think he was getting more light than what I'm giving them now

Thats what it looks like but T5s are different than LEDs and your eyes can deceive you regarding intensity of light

Sounds good,I had them on the bottom of the sb and noticed they had lot of skeleton showing. I'll keep my eyes on them the next few days

sounds good, you can also try dipping the coral in case its an infection or parasite? some suggestions
