I bought some frags of acans about a month ago. I didn't want to rescape my tank, so I just put them on a frag rack. They are all growing and some are even overgrowing their frag mounts, also I think they need more room since at night I have noticed sweeper tentacles that are nearly touching each other. So I was wondering if the next step is to get some kind of dome shaped LR and drill a hole that the frag plug would fit into for their next home? Or can I just put them on the bottom of the tank as they are and let them grow?

I like to place them in the sand and watch them grow. but they grow faster when they can encrust a rock

Yeah if u can put them on LR they will encrust and also don't let those sweepers touch another acan or it will kill it. Also for faster growth target feed them at least once a week. Good luck love those acan lords

Thanks. I put them on the sand, but had to use egg crate to keep them upright for now since the frag plug was too long to push into the sand. I'll probably drill some LR this upcoming weekend when I have some time.

I am also having a hermit crab rodeo to get them all out of my DT and I guess into the sump until I can take them back to the LFS. I am tired of them rooting around and knocking my frags over.
