I have a 12g nano. Nitrates 10 or less, alk at 9kh, ca 490, mg 1380. One hydor powerhead and blue/white lights running at blue 40% for 8 hours and white 12% for four hours. No major changes lately but they're not opening the way they used to. I also have two sexy shrimp. What are some Acan lords not doing well? They're inflated but not fully. Color is good but they used to be much more inflated. Any thoughts?

Target feed and watch the lighting. It might be too much. Turn them down a bit and see if they respond.

Mine love the Kessil LED. Feed them mysis every week or so also

I'd run some carbon. There could be something in the water. If that's not it then it's probably a pest or infection or too intense light. (Sexys can buy them too) I've had plenty of acans in all different water types. Pests are what usually make them not happy.

I've notice with LEDs they do loose color but still poofy, rainbows fade. Clean water still poofy but grow slow even with feeding. High light causes the heads to appear smaller but still look healthy. Sometimes higher light makes the colors more vibrant for about a month. All my observations. I still have about 10 colonies and about 10 frags, I used to have a lot more. And by a lot I mean 70ish pieces.

Thanks. They did okay for a while. Very puffy. Now they're smaller. I think I may move them lower in the tank for less light. Do pods bother them? I picked up a few with my last coral purchase even though I dipped.

Not as good of growth under just LEDs. I supplement mine with 2 250 halides with radium 20k. Also spot feed each head Reef Chilli and Mysis every 3 to 4 days.
