First let me say that I am coming back into the hobby after a few years off. I started out with a 29 bio and added the fluval reefpro 2.0 LEDs. I did my research before hand and after my purchase I really love the lights. I was looking for the economical version.
Now my question is about these changes in about 5 acans and my frogspawn. I always had a single led moonlight on my t5 light tanks in the past. So when I first got the new LEDs I left the blue light on overnight for at least a couple of weeks. All zoas, acans, etc looked and reacted great. I started to notice some diatoms so after thinking about it I came to the obvious conclusion....the lights were too strong to leave on all night. So after going dark overnight the next day when daylights were on I noticed the acans and frogspawn doubled in size! (Puffed up acans as I would call them) they seem to lose a little color when they are puffed up so much. My thought is just because it's more see through...all opinions are welcome and wanted please! What could be the cause? After just a little research I read acans will puff up in too much light but that kinda goes against what I am experiencing...
