I have an Acanthophyllia deshayesiana (meat coral) previously known as an Indo Scolymia. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this coral? The one that I have doesn’t feed like the corals I have seen in various videos. Its tentacles do not expand at all. The top of the coral flattens out and begins to fold over itself. You can see in the one picture below that a pink mass comes out of the center and appears to grab onto any food and suck it inside. Is this normal for this coral? Thanks for any help.

Yes this is typical behavior to my knowledge. Many corals turn their stomacha inside out to snatch food that lands on them, and then pull it all back in using mucus strands for consumption.
