Acanthophyllia question

Hello, I recently purchased a blue and yellow Acanthophyllia from an online vendor who I will leave anonymous for now. Here is the picture that led me to purchasing this beast.

Gorgeous, right? Well, I thought so anyways. Here is my problem. This is the coral I received.

Now, obviously this is just a crappy cell phone pic but I feel it's very representative of what the coral actually looks like. So my question is, Do I have a reason to be upset or is this normal stress due to shipping/being in a different tank with different lighting? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've had sticks brown out due to shipping before, but never Lps. Not saying that it's not possible. I guess I'm just disappointed and maybe a little bitter. That's why I'm asking for other people's input.

sometimes vendors tweak color settings on their cameras or adjust the overhead lighting to make the coral color seem more robust for a photoshoot. It looks like dayglow neon in the photo but once you get it home under your lights it's much different....been there, done that, been reaaaaal angry. I am not saying that is the case here. Maybe it is just a little stressed from shipping but in my experience if it looks too good to be true it usually is. Most of the light settings we have in our tanks aren't geared for maximizing the total color output capability of every coral we have. When you have that many colors in a coral you will need to mess with the lights to get it to continually display at it's best....meanwhile other corals that looked amazing might look dull under the new light setting. Overall, you just need to find that balance of what you like in your tank and know what colors are more prone to "pop" compared to what lights you are using. I feel your frustration.

Looks the same to me. I agree that maybe the pic was either tweaked or under very particular lighting to give it that color and it is probably dulled from shipping a bit too. I still think it looks good, once you have been in the hobby for awhile you can sometimes know what a coral will look like under different lights
