Acceptable temp swing?

I have my controller set at 78. ( I haven't been able to quite sit down and figure programming of apex for heater yet) but since I got my Apex, been watching a bit closer and noticing a 2-3 degree swing. Is this acceptable?

Yes, 2-3 F is ok. Aim for 2.

It's probably fine. I personally run mine at a 1 degree temp swing.

I think most will agree that 3 degrees is too much. Many will say 2 degrees is too much, and 1 degree is ideal.

All will say a controller (separate from the heater) is a must.

2-3 Deg is no problem. I have always let my tanks (sps) vary 2-3 and have never had a problem in the last two decades. Back in the day when everyone ran MH lights this was pretty typical.
