Anyone know how to access the cylindrical housing over the ballast? I think I just have a loose wire but can't get into the dang housing and trying not to break it?

If you're talking about the ones I think you're talking about, they're potted. I would get one of the NEMA ones. You can replace the ballasts in those.

The potted ones seem prone to overheating as well.

Do you know if the NEMA one will work with 57W? Don't see that as an option smallest seems to be 80W. Based on my setup I would have to put the box inside my stand which I don't think would be the best environment for the NEMA box...may just replace the transformer (I accidentally twisted the wire which I think detached inside the potted section, DOH!).

The 114W model is two 57W units joined together connected to individual ballasts. AquaUV has a reputation for good customer service so you might want to just call them and explain. They sent me a free 57W ballast when I complained that it burned out too early...but the 2nd one died prematurely as well.

They might be able to sell you a single 57W NEMA ballast.

The NEMA ballasts are waterproof but bulkier. The advantages are better cooling and the ability to replace the ballast.
