I have a used 28g nano tank and have had it operating perfectly since August. I have a timer on for 6 hours a day set on my metal halide bulb. Well I have been working 12 hour shifts that overlap the time that they are on, basically not getting to see the tank while it is fully lit up since last Tuesday. Well I have noticed that my coral and everything are basically all closed up. I found out my light has been blown. So my LFS doesn’t carry that kind of bulb, so they told me to use an led light from Walmart until I can get a new one. I replaced the bulb today with an LED setup, and my coral has yet to open, my fish and hammers look great, some of my zoas are looking okay but my gsp’s look the worst..

will they ever come back?

yes ,use led until new bulb ,should perk rt back

Corals go without light in nature when there storms out over the ocean all the time. Just part of nature. Obviously you don’t want to be with out light any longer than possible. What bulb do you need and where are you located. Someone close to you might have one they can lend or sell you.

Thanks everyone. Is there anyway I can just use high powered led bulbs for my main light instead. These bulbs are a pain
