So it's been a journey getting to where I am now in this hobby. However I wanted to share I stumbled on the weirdest thing. I had a trigger system triton sump v1 and wanted to add a filter. So I hacked away at my $500 sump and installed a bubble magus filter roller in effectivly the refugium area. Everything worked great and I was happy. Fast forward a month or so and I was really surprised how fast im tearing through rolls with the float switch all the way up. On closer inspection. It turned out my roller is getting hit with light from my h380 and is basically growing algae and bacteria on it.. It clogs and moves the roller. Now as far as nutrient export goes..this may be the crown jewel if I have ever seen one.

So...free million dollar idea for anyone if we survive the beerflu. rollermat + light = rollermat turf scrubber... plz send me some kickback lol

At some point I may block the light with a plastic lid or something as I fear this may pull to many nutrients out with my chato. I'll upload pics if ppl are interested later

Anyone else do something like this? I'm thinking of trying to grow cyan0 bacteria in the roller filter of my trigger :)
