So I bought this green bta yesterday and the lfs gave me with a small rock that they broke from a big rock. At first I did not realize that it had a brand new non-mature mouth which I discovered today when my lights came on and I knew it was a split anemone probably healed halfway and one time i brought a split anemone to my tank it died the 2nd day in, and after that, a wiseman told me that if you bring a half healed anemone to a new tank it will die. So please tell me what should i do i can take it back to the LFS but their water quality is bad i am talking about salinity 1,022 ;nitrates 50; temp 86 degrees fahrenheit basically the nem was pretty much feeling bad in their tank. Here are some pics of the nem
please help me i dont wanna lose the nem. The last pic was inside the lfs tank. From the the pics its not that easy to spot the wound but i can tell you that there is a brand new forming mouth.

If the water chemistry at your LFS is that bad;it probably stands a better chance of survival in your tank. Just my opinion

If it looks happy you're probably going to be alright. If it starts deflating and looking stressed anemones can be treated with antibiotics to prevent infection, it should be done in a hospital tank. You can use ciprofloxacin at a dosage of 250mg/10 gallons for at least 7 days and for 3 days after it stops deflating. The medication is best dosed at night as light causes it to degrade. A 100% water change should be done before before each dose and if the water gets cloudy.

Thanks for the good advice if it starts deflating i will do that but won't a 100% water chage be more lethal to the nem? Realy want to know.

Just going to jump in here, and tell you to NOT treat with antibiotics when the nem deflates. I have multiple BTA's and 1 Gigantea, and they OFTEN deflate, for short periods of time, sometimes lasting up to an hour or 2, it's completely normal, aslong as the colouration is good (not becomming white) she'll manage, BTA's are tanks, you can't really kill them off that easily, if it split naturally (which it probably did, as you didn't even notice) she'll be up & looking great with a fully grown mouth in 1-2 weeks.

Looking from the pictures you got yourself a gorgeous specimen ^^ I love green BTA's, if you just want to help her a little bit, feed her 1 or 2 anemone pellets a week - starting next week, it'll enhance colouration & growth.

If you're going to treat her with antibiotics when she's looking down, you need to be 100% sure she's ill, as you'd also need to take her off the rock which is a pain in the butt to do, if you're unlucky (and tearing the foot is the worst thing you'd want to do right now as she's still recovering)

The large water changes are to ensure the water stays as clean as possible, cipro will kill any biofilter in the tank. You want temp and salinity to match perfectly. @NewGoby makes a valid point above and I wasn't trying to recommend you jump right in with antibiotics, your nem is looking well and it's likely that he'll do just fine with proper water parameters. I would, however, recommend keeping this information on the back burner and having some cipro on hand in case you need it

Well thanks for all the great advice! The nem is feeling realy good and it eve bubbled up more but it for no reason went under a rock and is not getting enough light but im not that worried because i know it will move upward in a couple of days. And thanks again for all the greta advice!
