I made a schoolboy error earlier and dumped a load of alkalinity in my tank. The tank is normally very very stable +- 0.1 dKh per day. The accident has spiked the dKh by +1.5 (from 8 to 9.5).

Whats the best way to salvage the situation?

I was thinking cut dosing in half to let it fall slowly back to original levels. Any other suggestions?

I would just let it fall back to the level you want on its own. While 1.5DKH is alot, its not horrible. As long as your corals all look good i'd say youre going to be fine :D
