I have been in the hobby for six years and thought I made every big mistake, but I found a new one. I did some sump maintenance yesterday and my ATO line ended up submerged in my sump. The water siphoned back into my ATO container and now my SG .0123 in my display and .0008 in my ATO container. I am thinking I can just let the ATO slowly add the water over the next few days to bring my display SG back to 1.025. No corals or fish are showing any signs of stress. Does anyone have any additional advice. Is there anything I'm missing.

That is what I would do for a slow trasition and then everything would go back to normal eventually. You might want to add saltwater manually a few times to the sump until your back to like 1.025. I don't think you'll have much to worry about.

I think your idea sounds like a good one; fish do fine going down in SG fast, but have a hard time safely going up, so the slower the better. I actually put salt water in my ATO when I had an accidental dilution from my wife doing a water change for me and using the wrong barrel of water.

A SG of 1.025 to 1.027 is ok, you have a good plan letting it come back up slowly.

Thanks for all the help. My "1" key on my keyboard is touchy, so my I meant to type 1.023 and 1.008 in my original post.

Yep go ahead and top off your ATO with RODI and it will slowly get back in check. Oh and secure the ATO line [emoji6]

Ha! I turned the plastic screw a little tighter on the holder.
