Acclamation

I typically float the bag with the lights off in the aquarium for about 10-20 minutes then i put the fish in a clean bucket that i use only for acclimating and drip acclimate for an hour or so depending on the fish ... then it goes right into the quarintine

That's sounds like what i usually do. But some one was telling me the other day they just float the bag for about 15 minutes, then drip accalmate for about 15 minutes. Then into the tank, or QT. He was saying it is less stressful for the fish.
 
I match my QT salinity to the tank the fish is coming from. When I bring the home I just float the bag to acclimate the temperature for 20-30 minutes then scoop the out of the bag with a gloved hand and put them in the QT. Lights off during this btw.
