going to a swap meet this weekend and was worndering if coral need to be drip acclimted or just temp acclimted. in the past i always dripped everything but i read coral only need to be temp acclimted. thanks

I personally temp acclimate then drip acclimate for 30 or more minutes and then a dip and into the tank

I dont acclimate any of my corals. I bring them home, dip them in Revive and put them in the tank. I learned this method from the guy at my LFS and recently I read about it in a article in reef builders, here is the link Acclimating corals, how most home hobbyists should do it (video). They ask Julian Sprung about it and his response is very interesting. I've personally never lost any coral doing it this way and it works for me.

I also just temperature acclimate and do a Revive dip. I have never lost a coral either. I was always under the assumption that if the coral is deflated (as it should be since it is being moved and carried in a bag) that it is pretty safe and bulletproof. Of course, I could be way off base :-) Obviously this wouldn't apply to all corals but all I buy are LPSs at the moment.

I heard you don't need to acclimate them. Since I have been just putting them in with no issues.

If that works for you, then great.
Just about all parts of this hobby has many different ways to do stuff. Most of the ideas are good.
