Acclimating corals, how most home hobbyists should do it (video)

Imagine that you are just stepping off a long inter-continental flight. As you step off you are walked through a long hallway with air that has a smooth gradient of temperature and pressure to carefully acclimate you to your new environment. Then once you reach the end of the Skywalk, you are hosed down and sprayed with all kinds of disinfecting agents, then you are allowed to be on your way.

What are your thoughts on this article?

Personally I follow the "Don't risk it, Dip It" methodology with a 3 stage dip. I'd personally rather lose a frag than lose my tank so if there is a pest it will be killed before the coral touches the main display.

I do I have been doing this for 7+ years never had an issue with fish or coral

Im not going to say that this is the wrong way but it is definently not how I do it. I have used this same method for years and it works great for me. I drip everything for an hour or a bit longer depending what it is. After this has taken place I then add my Reef Dip slowly and allow it to sit for a little over 5 minutes occasionaly agitating the water with a turkey baster. I rinse each coral off lightly then place near the bottom of my tank to keep it from light shock. Like I said its works good for me and it seems to give me a little peace knowing I do it this way.
