Hey guys I recently purchased a new light fixture to upgrade the chinese 120w led I've had over the tank. The new light is a 4 t5 1 MH fixture and comes out to be about 406 watts i believe. The question I have for you guys is how should i acclimate the corals that I already have in the tank to the new much more powerful light without causing any harm? I was thinking about starting with just the t5 on then add the MH for 2 hours and then a couple days later increase in time. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks ahead of time!

There's a few ways to do it pick which is easier. If you have a hanging kit you can have them very high and slowly lower them. The way I did it was time. You can run your t5 and start with 2 hours on the halides and bringing it up a hour every week or 2 weeks. Just pay attention to what the corals look like. When I went to led I started at 40% on both channels then went up 10% every 2 weeks

You can also use window fly screen in several layers over the top of the tank. Every week or two remove a layer so slightly more light can get into the tank. Eventually you'll remove all the layers and the corals will hopefully be acclimated :)

I put mine on a DIY magnetic frag rack and start at the bottom
and every three days rais it a inch or two until it's at the hight it will be mounted at.
