So I just bought 2 clownfish and plan on adding bio Spira with them. I am wondering since my tank is brand new and not cycled should I be skipping the step of adding water to the store bags to acclimate them?

don't want to be the bad guy but if you don't already know it is WAY to early to add fish.you really should reconsider adding fish until you have cycled it properly.chances of survival are very slim for those clowns.if you want to cycle with fish I would try some black mollies first.

I would ask LFS to take clowns back until your tank has completed cycling - weeks not days. If you are dealing with a reputable seller shouldn't be a problem. If store won't take them back then you know you got bad advice when buying them and should probably find another source for your fish, inverts, coral. Patience is what really matters in long run and no reason to start off in this hobby by taking a chance. Clowns are always available.

I agree with the last few posts. Adding fish too early may work at first but soon you will have Nitrite and ammonia spikes whitch will lead to mass die offs and algae issues further down the road. Return the clowns if possible of even just give them back to the pet store and let you tank cycle for at least 2+ weeks if not more. I have rushed into tanks before and had success and also complete and utter failure. Hopefully this helps
