I've seen various opinions on forums about acclimating above. Some say just float bag for 15min and add to tank & others say use drip method . I know if shipped NH3 buildup is a concern depending how long bag was in shipping. I will buy mine from lfs so they'll be in bag less than an hour . I would prefer drip method but for how long? 1, 2+ hours, or longer? Comments appreciated.

I always take them and float them for 20 or so depending on the temp of the bag. I then dump all the snails I buy into a mixing bowl with most of their water. I add some of my own. About 20 min later I take them all and throw them in this acclimation box I have. Let them all crawl out on their own and the ones that don’t usually aren’t going to make it so I put them in my frag tank(easier to remove)

I also order mine offline so the death rate is higher

I float them for around 15 minutes, then drain the water out of the bags and toss em in the tank.

I've had very few issues with acclimating (or should I say "not properly acclimating") snails, but have noticed shrimp are very sensitive to changes in salinity/temp. I've had good luck lately with shrimp by putting them in a small bucket and then slowly adding tank water over about 30 mins.

Corals, fish and inverts I drip acclimate for 15-20max that’s after I float the bag for temp and dump in I have not lost anything to acclimation I think the longer the more stressful and also temp will be off with ambient temp being different than your tank,

I have temp acclimated open bag and dump water and toss corals right in without drip no issues at all but I was in a rush but to be safe I drip just a bit

Thanks. As for fish i put a heating pad under bucket so water in there stays same as tank. (heating pad is waterproof). Have always temp acclimated this way with my FW tanks. That way I can do a longer acclimation if needed.
